Good morning to all! I hope everyone is having a great start to their day. Although, for our featured artist today, it’s already after 2:00 in the afternoon! Yes, today I’m featuring a talented artist from London in the United Kingdom and his name is Richard Andrzejewski. His shop is Rich Makes: Modern Home Decor with an Urban Edge.
Richard graduated from Central St. Martin’s College of Art & Design in 2001 with a BA (Hons) in Theatre Design for Performance. He’s been an assistant to theatre, event and dance designers, as well as a set and costume designer on productions in his own right.
Rich Makes was founded as a further creative outlet to share exciting products, with Richard’s vision being to bring the public handmade accessories for the home made out of materials surrounding our everyday lives.
Richard draws his inspiration from his everyday surroundings: Nature, Modern Structures and Architecture. Richard has true appreciation for the contrast and feel of rough industrial concrete mixed with the softness of nature, or with a luxe metallic / enameled finish. All of Richard’s concrete decorations are hand-finished in his studio, where he enjoys blending art with craft from raw, tough and man-made materials such as paper, concrete, brass, copper and gold. He transforms these materials into bold, minimal works that can also be fun, lighthearted and celebratory.
Although Rich Makes was only recently opened on Etsy, he is looking to further develop his product range with planters, candle holders and other home decor. He is always open to interesting ideas and suggestions and he invites you to contact him through is Etsy shop to discuss possibilities, or simply strike up a conversation!
